Registration
Q: How do I register for an Account?
A: If you haven't registered for an account, you should see a Register Now button in the left hand navigation. Click the button, and you should see a form like the illustration.
All of the fields except Organization are required by the system. Use your email address for your user name.
The information you type in this form will be part of your Profile. After you register, you will have an Account that you can access through the My Account link at the top of the left navigation. You can change your profile in My Account. There are many other items, such as your logo, that you can add to your Profile. When you place Ads, you can choose whether or not your Profile shows up at the bottom of the ad.
Q: How much does it cost to register?
A: Nothing. Registration is FREE. The short registration provides you with a user name and password that allows you to place ads and post News and Events.
Q: Do I have to register to use the site?
A: Content is available without registration. If you want to place ads, news or events, you must fill out the short form to register for a FREE user name and password. This allows us to protect our site from spammers. When you create ads, we will ask for more complete contact information.
Pricing and Payment
Q: How Much Do Ads Cost?
A: We have a variety of prices to meet your needs, based on type of ad, number of ads, and length of ad run time. To see our rate card.
Q: How Long Does an Ad Run?
A: Ads run in blocks of 30, 90, 180 or 365 days. If you would like to purchase a block of ads for any of these time periods, we also have subscription pricing.
Creating and Managing Ads
Q: Do I Have to Register to Create Ads?
A: Yes. You must be a registered user to create ads. Registration is free.
Q: I created an ad, but it does not show up in search results. Why?
A: Your ad may not show up immediately for several reasons:
1) After you type your ad, it is added to your ad list. To ask for the ad to run, you much click OK to Run in Manage your Account. This allows you to enter a number of ads at one time and run them, as needed.
2) Payment must be processed before your ad can run.
3) All ads must be approved by the site administrator. We will make every effort to have your ad approved by the next business day.
Q: I sold my stuff. How do I stop my ad from running?
A: From the Manage Account pages, click on the Stop link to the left of the ad. The system will keep your ad; so, you can run it again later, if needed. You can also choose to Delete the ad, if you won't be needing it again. There are two pages with Ad Lists: one for Premium Ads and one for Basic Ads.
Q: What Category Should I Put My Ad In?
A: You can choose your category from the list. We are always open to ideas for new categories. We may recategorize any misplaced ads.
Q: What region should I put my ad in?
A: In your Seller Ad, you should list the region where your Forest Products are located.
In your Buyer Ad, you should list the state where you buy from or where you are.
The ad region does not need to be the region you set for your account.
Q: Will my ad be visible in other regions?
A: Yes. All ads are visible in any region. The system will, however, always show a person ads in their region first, then ads from outside their region.
Email Alerts
Q: What is an Email Alert?
A: An Email Alert is a Timber Buy-Sell service that sends you an email to tell you that a new ad has been placed in the categories you choose.
You can order Email Alerts by the month or by the year.
Privacy
Q: I don't want my name, phone number or email address to appear on your site. What should I do?
A: You can have all your personal information remain private. Update your personal privacy preferences from the My Account page. To discourage spammers, your email address will not show from your account. Instead, viewers will be provided a form that will go to your email - but they cannot see the address. Caution: you type your email address into the text of your ad, it will show on the page. In this case, your address could be gathered by spammers.
Q: If all my information is private how can a buyer contact me?
A: When your ad appears, instead of showing your contact information the following appears: "This seller has chosen to remain private. You may contact this seller via anonymous email by clicking here." The prospective buyer completes an on-line form and the system sends you an email without revealing your information to the prospective buyer.

Regions
Q: How Do Regions Work?
A: Timberbuysell.com covers the U.S. and Canada.
All states/provinces are listes as regions. When you register or create ads, you select a region.
When you browse ads, ads in your region will be shown first. When you search for ads, ads in your region will be shown first.
